Try cheese or yogurt, they have products in them that help you absorb the calcium better. Nuts also help and this sounds gross but applying garlic gives them a good coat (protects them from getting all brittlish).

I have the same problem. The best advice I could give you is to take a daily multivitamin and use a stregnthening nail polish. My favorite is OPI Nail Envy. It's a little pricier than most, but I've tried many products and this one worked the best for me. Two coats of the stuff and I couldn't bend my nails anymore.

Take vitamins everyday (Centrum, One A Day,...) My nails have always been strong. I have been taking vitamins since the age of 12. I am 47. I know I am healthier because of it. I don't get sick much either. About all I ever have is a cold or flu. But now, I get flu shots every year. Try taking vitamins. Also, check with your doctor. Maybe he/she can tell you something also.

You can try a nail supplement from a health foods store or a nail strengthener/polish. You can also talk to your family doctor and see what they recommend, you could have a deficiency causing that. Good luck

im sorry to tell you but your mom was a lil off on this one.milk will help your bones and proteins will help muscles. but keratin is what is on your nails and toe nails, but you can get a nail hardener that will strenghthen your nails. getting a silk wrap on your nails or putting acrylic on your real nails but you got to be careful with that though,
