As a teacher myself I have to say that the answer is 'certainly not'.

No, there are no differences due to race. There are extremely intelligent people from all races and for lack of a better term, complete idiots just the same. Intelligence has a lot to do with drive, upbringing, and determination. Asians in the U.S. strive to do better so they can achieve their families hopes. But the fact is, I have traveled quite a bit. I didn't see a place that had people that were super intelligent or otherwise. I have also been to China and they were no different than anyone else. As a general trend, however, people from the East, have tighter family bonds and will therefore push harder to succeed. That success is not a matter of intelligence but a result of hard work.

No of course not!
Which as a teacher you should already know.
They may be more attentive and work harder though as most Asian Cultures think Education important so might appear to be. But that is in OUR culture. If you look at the statistics in their native lands they would be similar to ours. The reason a lot of Asians emmigrate is to provide a better education for their children!
As most highly intelligent people often have trouble at school because they are not challenged enough in some way, how well they do at school in exams etc isn't a true measure of intelligence.
How many times though do you hear of someone who left school without even taking exams yet are seen as highly intelligent by most people. A good example would be Richard Branson.

I think they have a different work ethic. They are pushed hrder at home and work harder, that goes for oriental and asian children alike.

They are miles ahead due to this, and seem to have an advantage anyway over white and black children.

Black children especially seem to have a very lax attitude to work, perhaps because of the influence of peers etc. I guess that's why so many fail at school. They just don;t care enough. I cannot believe that blacks as a race have a natural disadvantage in terms of intelligence, it must be a self-imposed one.

No. One classroom in a poly-ethnic school is hardly the basis of a valid study. Secondly, you should know as a teacher, that intelligence is merely a construct that can vary and have infinite characteristics. I think it is absurd to speculate on such a question, a better one might be to what extent does a teacher have a positive or negative effect on the achievement scores of her students.

Ignore the PC patrol. Asian women are much smarter on average, no matter what their education level. And yes, I'm a freaking teacher too. I traveled the world teaching all colors shapes and sizes. Personally, I find Indonesian women to be the most naturally intelligent among asians, but don't tell my wife, Wati.

Intelligence is a primitive term. We are all intelligent in different ways and in different things. Like some are intelligent in memorizing while some are intelligent at creating. The question is in what area do you lack intelligence and how can you improve it? So in short, no Asian girls are not more intelligent that white or black girls.

Genetically, I think they all have the same chance. But it's just the way each culture is raised. In the Asian culture, the parents put more emphasis on education and study over everything else in life except eating and hygiene.

I hope you get those good anwers this can bring, but also some insulting ones.

On that question you asked, I think it is a matter of perseverance and family. A strong family can drive the right person to be intellingent or they can make that person not want to learn much.

I'm glad my child's not in your class. My 2 children are in the 5th grade. They have straight A's, a 4.0 GPA. Since they were old enough to earn letter grades, this has been the case. 1 boy, 1 girl, neither Asian.
