I prefer a mixture of white and red when I get roses, but personally I like carnations better. The have a stronger fragrance, last longer and are less expensive.

red roses are for love. White is for passion. If you are growing them, I like the way red ones look against the green of the leaves. And when the rose starts to fade, the red doesn't seem to "rust" as much. But a monocramatic garden is really nice; just one color with various shades of that color in the blooms.

I like the fragrance of red roses as there are more choices, but no one can live without white flowers, including roses....the white Simplicity has done wonders with the pink Simplicity for a hedge down the fence line.
