Steve Irwin, tragically, is dead. I can't feel sorry for the dead, because the would never know I felt that way. I do, however, feel sorry for his family. But I think they will find comfort in the fact that he died doing what he loved, studying animals. So to answer your question, no.

No I don't feel sorry for him.I feel sorry for his wonderful family.I feel sorry for all his fans who won't see his quirky and crikey show every week.Steve Irwin was one of those rare people that knew how to live without limitations and to watch him was to love him.I hope Terry and her children can find happiness again and I hope Bindi's new show will be a great success and as for Steve I just hope that his work continues. He did great things for wildlife and I hope his loved ones continue the legacy he so lovingly cherished.....Dodgegirl62

I don't feel sorry for Steve Irwin. He died doing what he loved...interacting with Nature. I do feel sorry for his family who now has to deal without a father/husband, and truthfully, because he chose to take such risks KNOWING that it might take him from them before his time.

I really enjoyed watching his show although I thought a few things were somewhat foolhardy. They said the stingrays automatically raise their stinger when something gets directly over them. It surprised me that he didn't know this. I would think in his line of work, he would make sure to be as knowledgeable as possible about every animal in whatever environment he was working in. I don't feel sorry for him but have great sympathy for his family. He died doing what he loved but his family is left to cope without him. Being a single parent is very hard.

Not really, I thought he was quite foolish actually. He put his baby in danger a number of times by holding the baby in front of allegators and crocks...if Michael Jackson had done that, he would have been in the tabloids and in court.

I always thought it was a matter of time before some animal got fed up with Steve Irwin. He wasn't brave...he was stupid.

I feel for his family, especially his children. I believe his wife is really experiencing some serious grief, too.

Steve, on the other hand, yes, I'm sorry he's gone, and I know it's been said, but he certainly was in his element when he went. He was doing what he loved. More power to him!

well, in a way- yes, i do. I mean- no one deserves to die and leave behind a beautiful wife and children, but at the same time, he made a living by bothering and exploiting innocent animals. Yes, i know he did help animals at times, too... but still- I mean- what in the world would he want to catch snakes and fight crocs for? And "Crocodile HUNTER"!? HUNTER??!! what a horrible name! i think steve got what was comin to him. he pestered those poor animals all his life- it was only a matter of time before one snapped. But i think his death was an honourable one. he died doing what he loved- bothering the living daylights out of helpless animals. poor guy. god rest his soul.

Well, I feel sorry for his family. Steve is no longer with us and it does no good to feel sorry for him. It is his family that is suffering the lose.

I don't feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for his family. He lived a good life and left a great legacy behind. His work is done even though he was still too young to die.
