It sounds like plastic is rubbing together when I go over a bump or make a turn. Could it be alignment is out or I tighten the bolts down to tight. Its driving me nuts.

Did you change the strut mount as well? Usually it needs to be done with a strut.

When you replaced the strut, did you replace the top strut bearing that the top bolt of the strut goes thru? Its usually a steel plate held on with several bolts and nuts. This piece allows the strut to turn with the front steering/ wheels, when you make a turn while driving.
On the other hand, if you are referring to shock absorbers, you may have left out a rubber bushing, or the shock is contacting something that it shouldn't!
Better check it again! Driving it with something wrong will surely cost you money down the road!

Along with the above answers, the strut may have also not have been lubricated properly when it was installed. It needs this. My last car did this and turned out it needed to be lubricated.

it sounds like your problem is your strut mount and\or bearing
