Free Speech is what American Patriotism is based on.
If you take away Free Speech, then there would be no such thing as American Patriotism.
The so-called "Patriot" Act is VERY wrongfully titled.

Bulls**t.
You've got "two questions" but then use the words, "third question"????
First, your "founding fathers" did in fact "limit freedoms". Consider the Whiskey Rebellion, put down by George Washington himself. In fact, during the time of the founding fathers, the States had very draconian laws concerning freedoms of speech, religion, etc. The only thing that the US Constitution originally said was that the FEDERAL government wouldn't regulate these liberties. The founding fathers most certainly were part of the draconian local laws.
The Patriot Act was a reasonable response to an increased threat to the USA. It is much less restrictive to previous wartime laws that we've seen in the USA. Do I like to have any laws telling me what I can, and cannot do? No, but there are reasonable tradeoffs, and this is certainly one of those.
Second, racism does exist. It is something akin to dishonesty, in that every human being struggles to some extent with both. An "honest" person will be "dishonest" under the right conditions, and a "non-racist" person most certainly will act on "racist" assumptions under the right conditions.
I've heard racist comments coming from people of all skin colors. I don't like affirmative action programs, and plan to vote against them this year (Michigan) but I certainly understand why they were put in place to begin with.

The so called patriot act is just another form of terrorism, except it's practiced by our government against us. Warrentless wire-tapping is against the law no matter how many acts or bills are passed that say it is ok. Our civil rights are slowly but surely being eroded. My government listens to my phone calls, reads my internet writings, looks into my bank statements, all in the name of stopping terrorism. I was born in Philly and now live in Florida. I guess that makes me a terrorist. Because I post my thoughts in the form of answers, there are certainly people who are going to call me names because I do not support this war or any war that does not directly effect American shores being landed upon by an invading army. Our government is broken and will remain that way as long as people consider themselves a member of either the Democratic or Republican party. Party membership suggests that you as an individual stop thinking and just listen and believe the rhetoric that the leaders tell you. If you really want to make them both nervous register as an Independent.

confident, Hate Speech is unfastened Speech. A kkk member has to appropriate to declare any minority is incorrect. The black panther has the terrific to declare down with the white supremacy. The Westboro Church isn't a church yet a HATE team. they are only as undesirable by way of fact the KKK. The Westboro Church is a hate team reason they purpose a definite team and harass them. If the church replace into to ensue randomly at any journey and show their reason then they may well be justified. The church deliberately seems for a military funeral and is going to that section to annoy the family. it rather is a hate team via all potential and definition.

What does the patriot act have to do with "thots?"
Did you object to the "campaign finance reform" bill that limits free speech? Did you object to the liberal judges saying it's ok for the government to take your home and give it to private citizens who are willing to pay higher property taxes? I mean, if you're going to list questions, ask 'em all.

Sadly enough, we constantly inch toward
socialism.
Our fore fathers must turn in their graves
as each new restriction is added to our
daily existence.
Seat belts, canker enforcement, (this was
a Florida ruse that allowed the state to break
through private fences in the name of canker
eradication)
insurance stipulations (pushed through by lawyers)
Social Security, ( government taking care of the
people) etc.
Some of this can be explained away in the
name of security. But much of it comes down
to little more,
than money and politics.

The Patriot Act doesn't limit freedom of speech in the context that our founders intended. The founders were concerned with political speech and the free expression of ideas. I doubt that they would consider yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater, publishing you credit card number and PIN on the Internet, or passing secrete to a known enemy of the Country as "free speech".
