I found one last week while travelling. The people had smiles on their faces, made jokes/ conversation and it was just great. In fact, I ask one of them if all the people in the state are that way and she pretty much agreed. The state in which I live does not compare and the person even mentioned that. She was correct too.

Well, I have been to 40 of the United States of America, including Alaska. And I have found that Washington State, in the Pacific Northwest, was the Friendliest by far! The people are compassionate ans caring. They smile easier and are more willing to help out a stranger than anyplace I have been on this Continent. There seem to be many more educated and intelligent people there, in small cities and large. But they also seem to deal with stress better. I have made more friends there than any other state I visited. And it is a beautiful place to live, and raise kids and animals as well. By the way, 95% of Texan's I have met, have been snobby and stuck up. Sorry, just been my true experience.

I'm not really sure about Texas. I had a bad experience with someone who lived there.

Anyway, I think WA has the nicest people. Only visited there but was shocked at how nice everyone was. Not like my state.

A southern state. Probably South Carolina or Georgia.

South Carolina. The town where I teach is nicknamed "the town of friendly people" and I've met a lot of nice people in the 2 months that I've lived here. Guess it's that southern hospitality.

texas, by default. Not only was it known that we have the friendliest, but we proved it when we were so accomodating during Katrina. Not only that, but Houston has the lowest crime rate out of any metropolitan area in the USA. Our friendliness may be why Houston traffic sucks, because we're always letting people in front of us.

Texas, the friendship state. Even the name comes from the native people word "Tejas" meaning "Friend". Sometimes they can overdo it though.

Georgia, but not necessarily in Atlanta. Georgians have southern hospitality.

NORTH DAKOTA by a mile. The population is low, relaxed, and largely an others-loving culture.
