I have never worn any form of heels before. I have been practising walking in them around the house, but i still can hardly walk in them. I tried getting a regular high heel but I kept falling all over the place. How do you walk quietly and gracefully in these things?!?!?!

Take shorter steps and land on the ball of your foot. Keep your body slightly tilted forward and shoulders back. Take a pair of scissors and scratch the souls of the shoes so you don't slip. Enjoy your event and focus on having fun!!!!! Hope this helps!

Practice practice practice.

Yes, when you first put on heels it is very hard but if you take small, slow, steps one foot in front of the other you will begin to get used to it.

Don't try to look comfortable or graceful in your heels until you can walk a straight line, then work it like model. xD

Sometimes they give you blisters so if you feel discomfort on your foot and want to avoid blisters put a bandaid on it right away to keep it from worsening.

Just keep practicing, don't over do it though, if your feet need a break take one but put them on a little later.

Good luck!

try heel toe, heel toe. plant your heel on the floor first, then the toe and make it look fluid. .don't go in there lookin like a damn robot... loll.you just have to practice with the dress on and get used to it and get going with it.try it on the carpet, hardfloor, up the steps, wherever. just be sure that your dress doesn't drape over the shoes to the poing you are tripping on the dress and your shoes. also your arms are important. if you're flapping your arms it's gonna look like you walking on the tight rope. keep your arm movement controlled and near your body, not all out the way like you about to dive into a person's arms like you about to fall. keep your posture, head up, nice strides, and practice practice practice. but if it's black tie you need to have heels, they don't have to be high, but a stilleto heel would be more appropriate.

I had to walk in these stilettos last night and I learned that if you take baby steps then they'll help. Also walk straight up and make sure that if you need to go up or down the stairs kind of bend your knees that helped me last night.I hope that this will help you tonight

You've gotten some good advice here.

Another option might be to get a nice ballet flat. They're very stylish now and can look very dressy.

Shift your weight a little forward.

But the only thing that will really help is to practice and then just do it.

Try practicing in the house while wearing socks. That way, you will feel comfortable while you practice.

As long as you have the black tie, that is the main item.
