im ebaying a couple of used laptops, im leaning towards a vaio any recommendations ?

I personally prefer Sony VAIO laptops. They are robust, up-to-date, and absolutely stylish (and this is the major reason I own one, and I damn like it). However, if you care about the price, VAIO laptops are a bit more expensive than other brands. If the brand name and beautiful design are not of primary importance for you, go for an HP. At the same price as a VAIO, HP has better specs and still reliable.

The Vaio will be expensive to support if something goes wrong with it... Look into the Compaq line of laptops (from 2005 onward), HP is now running the ship and Compaq's have drastically changed - especially if you can find one with an AMD 64 chip. Actually, I'd skip ebay and just go to a computer store and by one. With all the holiday deals kicking in, you'll be able to get an excellent laptop for around $800. Dell puts together a good computer; but their tech support is horrible! I'd stay away from this brand just due to their tech support.

It is ok but there are probably better ones amongst the not so well known names which are cheaper too (get a What laptop magazine). I did for worK and bought a Rock Computer which is very good and cheap.

Sonys are good. look at the different types of the vios. Apple powerbooks are cool to. If u don't want sony(being expensive an all) try looking into toshiba

Anyhting made by HP I just got a new HP Laptop and I am happy with it so I recommend anything made by HP

sony, hasnt ever made a laptop my personal favorite is the dell insprion it is reliable and gets good conectivity with using wireless networks...very good system.
