I have similar concerns as the previous person; I'm not certain where you're from.

However, I studied abroad and I'm an engineer. I would highly suggest that a person in engineering study abroad as soon as possible in his or her scholastic career. The reason is that many classes in the beginning are easily transferred from one school to another, but as one progresses in his or her engineering career then more advanced subjects that are more university dependent will be studied.

Ultimately you will probably find it easier socially as well to go abroad as early in your career as possible. Most people grow stronger and better relationships the longer he or she goes to college. These relationships are more important for more advanced classes.

I totally recommend studying abroad it gives a totally new look on the world for the better.
