Good question.
Enlightened person seems to be fallen in the well.
But has he actually fallen, much less fallen in a well ?
In the world drama many things are too complicated for one to decipher anything clearly about them.
And enlightenment is too subtle for anyone to decipher anything or be able to judge anything about.
As good and evil are parts of the God's creation, as long as the enlightened person is in this world, he or she is playing on the same drama stage with good and evil as anyone else.
Like everyone else his life will have ups and downs of good and evil.
But the enlightened one remains unaffected by these plays of light and darkness, good and evil on the world's drama stage.
Since he has found his abode in the God or the ultimate or the reality.
If an enlightened one buys a chocolate, money in his pocket will decrease by the cost of the chocolate. Like everyone else.
But that will not reduce his enlightenment.
So, in short, even if the enlightened one appears to have fallen in a well, don't worry about him, for no well is deep enough to contain an enlightened one for long. The God or the reality and the nature won't permit this to happen.

Inane as it is, I offer this.
Enlightenment isn't always strictly chosen,,,similarly,,, neither is falling into a well.
The fact that we may know of the wells existence, and the possible consequences of actions pertaining to the well, does not disallow that falling in is suddenly impossible, or even unlikely.
If WELL is a metaphor, it's a poor example.
An enlightened person, as well as one on the low end of a spectrum, still might have CHOICE available to them,,, and yet, so often, situation and circumstance intrude.

And, who decided that falling in a well is a bad thing? It can be fun. For an enlightened person. Gosh, people are so limited, man.

Well....the enlightened person might have had enducation, but he didn't have wisdom. You can have years and years of schooling, but not see what is in front of you. Just because you are enlightened doesn't mean you have the knowledge you need to survive in the world.
