Well, it does not do either for me, it just sounds sophomoric.

I find it very offensive to the people who worship God including myself. God loves us no matter what we do in our life time. We are His children. He would never leave us or hate us for something we did. If you want to know why I know this it is because of these Bible verses: Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, John 3:16. If you have time go ahead and look them up. You just might find his undying love.

Where did you find this quote? It seems like it is out of Fight Club, which means it is probably said from a postmodernist or nihilist point of view.
And its neither offensive or enlightening. It is just another viewpoint from an inperfect viewer.

I'm a christian, but I don't find that question offensive cause I'm used to it and I know I disagree with the point it makes.
So I find it neither enlightening, nor offensive.=)

I find it neither offensive or enlightening....it's irrelevant to me. If I did not believe in God then I would find the quote indifference. Because I do believe, it means nothing to me...totally irrelevant.

I find it mesmerizing. Because the first person is saying, when saying "we don't need Him" is ...we are our own God. The God that we created is a false and imperfect one, so ..it doesn't matter whether we are loved or not by some concept we created ourselves.

Without even addressing the text,,, wouldn't you assume that even "offensive" can enlighten???

Neither: I find it irrelevant. There is no particular reason to believe in a god, let alone whether a god likes something, dislikes something, or simply does not care.
