i have an s video connected from my laptop to my tv but i dont know how to make it work .
do i just plug it in or is there something u hafto do?

select the input of your tv set to S-video and try pressing Function key on your laptop + F something (where you can see the icon of the monitor) until you see the display of your laptop on your TV screen. This depends on the model of your laptop. Just try.

You have to enable the tv as a monitor in your video properties. Right click on the desktop and go to display properties and find it in there somewhere.

I assume coming from your laptop it is s-video out to your t.v. correct? If this is true then you need to see what t.v. video input you are plugged into and then choose that video input selection on your t.v. to view what's on your laptop.
