According to alternate sources, his name was supposed to be Adam, though his name is not mentioned in the Disney movie itself.

In the Cocteau French classic ' La Belle et la bete', he was only called 'Beast'.
In the CBS TV show he was 'Vincent Wells'.
In the Disney movie he was 'The Beast'.
My personal favorite is Vincent!!
