I am so tired of hearing about Democrats and Republicans. If the government is supposed to be a government by the people and for the people, then why do we have partisan politics? All it does is give politicians one more thing to hold higher than the will of the people. It seems like the order in which politicians hold their allegiance goes like this:
1)Their party
2)The businesses that contribute the most $ to their campaigns
3)The voters (as a distant 3rd)

I'm tired of slowly realizing that political parties and corporations run this country. Why are we moving further from democracy? Does anyone else think this is ruining our country?

Partisan politics is the sad reality of our nation today.

As long as there is not campaign finance reform, we will move further from true Democracy to whoever has the most money. Pure party politics can go both ways, but the everyday voter is the real loser.

I agree with your assesment.

They don't. I've been voting for over thirty five years. I don't recall a time when our country has been so divided, except during the Viet Nam war. Our great country was involved in two wars that were worth fighting, the first and second world wars. Every war we have been involved in since then were politically and monetarily driven. We kill our young people off in the name of keeping Communism and terrorism under control. It's the fear and hate mongers in our country who keep the crap stirred so it keeps on stinking. Politics is about power, not about what we the people want. Duke Cunningham, Tom Delay, Bob Ney, Mark Foley, Jack Abramoff, Dick Cheney in secret meetings with the energy commission, Dennis Hastert who knows nothing and doesn't know when he didn't know it. These are the people who represent us because we elected them. What utterly escapes me is the people who look at this mess and then say they want this party to keep power. There are two kinds of power. Political and money. Our current administration has both, and that's why we are in the mess we are. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Keep voting for the incumbents, and that is what we will have to look forward to, more of the same. When one party controls all branches of government the American people suffer.

what does not help is a bunch of mindless Texans who think at an 8th grade view point. Watch um invest in the second term for a Gov. that neglects the need of the people and lightens the load of the wealthy. Tax the poor would be a better motto than DON'T MESS WITH TEX

No. Our u . s . replaced into set as much as be partisan. This keeps each and every little thing in verify. This u . s . is being destroyed through fact ONE occasion is working each and every little thing and leaving the others out of each and every little thing. it rather is by potential of definition an tyranny. some thing that should not be placed up with plenty longer.

I totally agree with you. I'm a pretty partisan liberal myself, but this whole "us vs. them" thing has gotten completely out of hand. It's no longer red, white, and blue — it's just red and blue. I'm worried that it might start creeping into my country (Canada), since our current prime minister is one of the most partisan right-wingers we've ever had.

All they do is distract people from the truth. The same people win every election....the rich. It seems you like many of us are starting to realize it. Take the other pill my friends. You do not want to live the truth.
