I have a 1977 Ford F-150. the numbers on my rear pumkin is 9753. but thats all i could read on it. i have never worked on a rear end before so anything helps. thanx

its more than likely its a nine inch you can go to any on-line gear vendor and it will have a picture to help id the unit

if it's kinda round it's a ford 9 inch, if its sorta diamond shaped with bolts visible from the rear it's a Dana, most likely a 60 series but a heavy duty truck may have the 70 series, if you have never repaired one , don't , if you're lucky enough to live in Washington state go to Randy's ring and pinion, they're the best.

check inside your drivers door on the cab should be a tag with an axle code on it after that check a chiltons or repost it and i can look it up
