Start by balancing nitrogen and carbon (it is always easiest to begin with an element that appears only once on each side):
2 C3H5N3O9 -> 3 N2+ 6 CO2 + H2O + O2. Next, hydrogen:
2 C3H5N3O9 -> 3 N2 + 6 CO2 + 5 H2O + O2. Finally, oxygen:
2 C3H5N3O9 -> 3 N2 + 6 CO2 + 5 H2O + 0.5 O2. Clear the fraction:
4 C3H5N3O9 -> 6 N2 + 12 CO2 + 10 H2O + O2. Done!
Don't get too close to the reaction -- nitroglycerine is not very stable.

This reaction represents the decomposition of nitroglycerine

4C3H5N3O9>>6N2 +12CO2 +10H2O +O2
This gives
12 carbons on each side
20 hydrogens on each side
12 nitrogens on each side
36 oxygens on each side
and the equation is balanced
