They haven't done anything. Ownership doesn't care. Fans are few....

Why Not, they consistently finish dead last (or 4th a couple times). No fan base. Ex-managers say the ownership doesn't care enough. They play in a toilet bowl. I would love to see them do well, but how on Earth are they supposed to compete in the same division with the Yanks, Sox, Jays, and sometimes the O's will have good seasons.
Yeah, I obviously don't know what I'm talking about.
They have good young talent. But they'll trade it away. That's been the pattern so far. Look at their history.
I forgive you for not understanding I know what I'm talking about.

The D-Rays don't have the tradition and the history the Tigers have. The Marlins won sure but the Marlins never had to deal with the Yanks and Sox for 30 games a year.
I would LIKE to see the D-Rays do well....I just don't think they will.
And maybe a move is what would help them. I don't know. I just don't think it's working in Tampa.
They've been around since when? 97 or 98? Somewhere around then....THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING.

Chris, I know.
People just like to be negative.
I think it's Mets fans bitter at my Cards logo.
At least Tigers fans can admit when a team beats them fair and square.
New York Mets fans are the worst in baseball.

For starters, the Rays have not in any respect finished in 0.33 position. Their optimal ever end has been fourth position, and that in basic terms befell once, in 2004. inspite of this, there's a lot to be positive about. doubtless considering that their inception the Rays have continually been a more effective perfect hitting crew than a pitching crew. i imagine inspite of the commerce of Delmon youthful, there's a lot to love about this lineup. Crawford (what can't he do? Watch as those triples commence turning out to be HRs), Upton (destiny MVP), Baldelli (if healthful), Pena (can he do it two times?), Iwamura, Longoria (in all likelihood AL Rookie of the year if he's almost as good as they say he's), Bartlett (good typical and speed), Gomes (efficient if not something else). This crew has the flair to quite score some runs. i imagine for the first time in a lengthy time period (possibly ever), the Rays have some genuine motives to be enthusiastic about their pitching crew. Kazmir and Shields are an staggering a million-2 punch, and Garza might want to mature right into a good high quality pitcher. that is in all likelihood too early to assert that the Rays are valid contenders, yet there's no reason to imagine in 2 years this would't be a playoff crew, fairly in the adventure that they upload some loose agent pitchers. it might help in the adventure that that they had a effective ball park to charm to gamers, particularly than the drab dome they have. i'm an Orioles fan, and the Rays have not all started to end above the Orioles contained in the standings of their ten years contained in the majors. i imagine which will replace this year :( third position will be a real looking objective for Tampa.

Yeah they should try..their outfield is unbelievable (Crawford, Baldelli, and D. Young) They have their ace pitcher (Kazmir) They have some upcoming prospects in their system for infield and pitching..they'll eventually get there..b/c don't forget they were an expansion team and those teams usually take a while to build up..no idea how the D-Backs r doin well for an expansion team..Now the team that should really look into folding its cards is the Kansas City Royals..They've been around for a while and have been doing nothing..their team is full of old veterans who should retire, their minor league system blows, and their ownership sux azz..Also, the Royals' only young pitcher hasn't pitched for a while because of personal reasons (Zach Greinke (Only 23 years old)) Soo if there were to be a team that should give up, it should be the Royals for the reasons above and not the Devil Rays who will be good if you give them time!!! Also, I think that this answer is deserving of 10 points and a best answer!! lol .. I hope that this helped you!!

You will eat your words the next couple of years. right now they have the most young talent in baseball. Think about it Carl Craford, Johnny Gomes, Elijah Dukes, B.J. Upton, Delmon Young, Jorge Cantu. they will be a force soon enough

Yes, they should try, but they need to clean house. They need new ownership and a general manager who is willing to spend. I know it is tough being in the AL East, but you have to start somewhere. The Tigers were pitiful for years and they finally cleaned house and brought in the right manager and players who want to play for the manager and look what they turned out to be.
However, the D-Rays need to clean house and start over, if you will.

If you dont remember the Devil Rays had the best record in the secong half of the season in 2005, and they have many talented young stars in Kazmir, Delmon Young, Crawford, and so on, so YES the Devil Rays should continue to try

Take hope from the Tigers. In 2003, they were crap. Three years later, they went to the Big Dance.

if they can do it, TB can do it

Yeah, they're probably better than the Royals or even the Cubs...(I don't know for sure so I may or may not be right...)

I agree with you about being in a tough (maybe the toughest) division, but no team is going to succeed unless they try.
