I use to have a snake but I sold him and regret it because I miss him so much. He was about 4ft and he was a normal corn snake. But he is like no other snake. I had him potty trained to not poop in his cage. Instead when he had to go he would hit the lid to let me know and so then I would get him out and he would poop on a news paper or I would take him outside on nice days and he would do his job out there. If his feeder mice would be sick then he would refuse to eat them. Avery very smart snake.

I have two red-tail boas both 6 feet long, I have two carpet pythons, I have one green tree python, one ball python, and one Brazilian rainbow boa along with 40 other various lizards in my house..... Snakes are awesome I even breed my own bunny rabbits for food I think there great pets I've been bitten a few times by the carpets its not as bad as one thinks just allot of blood.. Also for you uneducated people they are not slimy nor ugly and I happen to believe my snakes do know me from other people I find them very fun to keep very low maintenance and I feed all of my snakes pre killed Bunny's or rats never live usually frozen and thawed most of them are extremely friendly too check them out http://s8an666.spaces.live.com/

snakes are awesome
one time we had a gentleman come to our school with his snake and spider display (I am the secretary there) and I greeted him and in our conversation, he became very surprised that I like snakes....
during the presentation to the entire school, he brought out a snake skin from a 28 foot anaconda that he had aquired and asked who wanted to come up and help to hold it up (it was rolled up) - none of the children put up their hands, so I did and he said "it's about time I was wondering when you would volunteer!" what an awesome display that was
another story - when my husband and I were dating, we went for a walk in a local nature reserve. As we crossed a field, I noticed a small garter snake nearby and caught it, enamoured with how cool snakes are. My future husband was flabbergasted.

They are interesting to watch and hold, but the bad things are that you cant really pet them like mammals and you have to buy cute little mice/rats/rabbits/gerbils/guini pigs for it to eat every week depending on what kind of snake you might get. Another bad thing is that unlike mammals, they do not get attached to their owner. But other than that, i think they are really fasinating.

Don't kill harmless snakes around the house but don't want
any poisonous snakes ...

I've tried really hard to learn to like them. I've read about them, handled them. They still creep me out. Not so much the big guys, because they don't move so fast, but the little skinny ones give me the willies. Eels too. Don't know why.
