definately stay in school, because you are right, it is very hard in the world without an education. i know this might sound easier said than done, but you never know when the answer to your life is going to come up and bit you.
good luck

I'm assuming you're a freshman in college if you're seventeen. Not knowing where your life is going is nothing strange for people in your situation. Trust me, very few college students, especially freshman, know what they're going to do for the rest of their lives. Stay in school, take classes in many areas of interest to determine what you think may be best for you. Once you've determined what you feel most passionate about, go ahead and make that your concentration. The great thing is, even once you've made that decision, you can still change it and change your major (though not suggestible second semester of senior year). You have three or four years to determine what you want to do in your life and even then, it will probably change around. Don't worry about it now, you have a long time ahead of you to make a decision.

I've been in a similar situation as far as my education goes. It's important to get as much education as you can, but you don't have to get it all at once. The nice thing about a bachelors degree is that you can major in practically anything and still get into almost any post graduate program without much problem (as long as your grades are good). I've decided to get training in construction work so I can do what I really love and still continue my education part time. That way, when I'm too old to do the physically challenging job, I'll be done with my other degree in time to get a desk job. And in the mean time I can do something more satisfying with most of my time than jumping through mental hoops for a grade. You'll feel better once you start making real money.

Hey your still young. I am 24 with a 4 year old and I am still not sure where my life is going. I'm in college also and I think I have found the area of study for me, but I changed my mind tons of times before now. If I were you I would just focus on getting your bachelors of arts and sciences. With that you can use it toward tons of jobs or to any field or study you choose later.

Don't worry about where your life is going - it's barely even started yet. Stay in school, and if you're unsure about what to do with the rest of your life, perhaps an aptitude test would help to show where your interests lie. Most colleges give them. You should check.

you were smart to go to college! Give it time and you will figure it out. Why do you think so many people change their majors or switch schools? because they don't know what they really want yet.
