a) SO4-2 (has a charge of -2)
b) BF3
c) O2
d) Al-H-I2 (one Al, one H and 2 I atoms)

i know its not C because O2 has a zero dipole moment, since both have the same electronegativity they cancel each other out. but still i cant get to the right answer... PLEASE HELP ME!

SO4-2 and AlHI2. Geometry of SO4-2 is square pyramidal, dipole moment point towards the nonbonding pair of electrons. AlHI2, though trigonal planar, dipole moment point towards the electronegative Iodine atoms.

b) BF3, it has the trigonal planer molecular geometry, and so the 3 BF dipoles will point out, but cancel each other since the angle between each of them is 120 degrees.

(d) AlHI2 has a non-zero dipole moment. All other ions or molecules are non-polar.
