Drain out the old oil and wipe it out with paper towels. Then take a wet soapy sponge to wipe it. Rinse the sponge and keep whipping it out and rinsing the sponge. Never put the fryer in the sink. Just keep doing this until all the oil is gone and then make sure all the soap is also. It really don't take that long, it just sounds like it.

Whatever you can pull off the deep fryer... stick in the dish washer. Get a Mr. Clean magic eraser, get it wet with hot water... then rub off the grease on the outside. It'll bead off... If needed, use some 409 to help with the cutting process. A little elbow grease will get it off nicely.

you will need a mask, for this ,you need to drain the fryer scape al l the old crud of the sides ,and spray some oven cleaner all around it .let it sit for half a hour or so it should start to peel off, repeat is it doesnt come off first time, i would sit it out side with lots of fresh air,and wear gloves with this oven clear, can be harmfull, make sure you rise it out three or more time to get rid of any cleaner, i nthe mean time ,fliter you oil. after every use will save on oil. good luck

I recommend a detergent that cuts grease. If it does not have an anti-stick coating, use steel wool. If it does use a plastic scrub pad.

Worse comes to worse use a metal paint scraper. Next time soak it when you are done using it, before you wash it so it does not get stuff sticking to it.
