... he think that is possible!!!!

BARCELONA, Oct 23 (SW) - FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o told France Football that despite being out for five months, he could still be Spanish top scorer at the end of the season.

The forward recently suffered a heavy knee injury but that does not keep him from staying positive:

"If I return earlier, let's say in February, I can still be the top scorer in those weeks.

"That's my ambition. Why not? There will be about twelve games left by then. But I won't speed up my return. I want for my knee to be completely recovered so I can be fit for important matches.

"I will be fitter than the rest and bring some fresh legs to the team. Hopefully we will still be in the race for three trophies in February or Match. I completely trust my teammates.''

Optimism is great, but reality begs to differ. Etoo doesn't need a top scorer award to prove what a great striker he is.

He'll settle for scoring the winning goal in the European Cup Final, over any top scorer award.

He deserves credit for the amount of self-confidence shown, but judging by the form that David Villa is in, its hard to see Eto'o finishing the season as top scorer.

There's a very fine line between being confident and cocky........does this sound a little cocky to you? I dono, but I have full faith in Eto'o. He does the impossible sometimes. I just hope he gets a speedy speedy speedy recovery. I miss the topscorer playing. Once he gets back, i'm sure he'll be in the top 5 AT LEAST! :]

He is always one of the top scorer in europe and he can do it but within this short time

Good that he is ambitious which will give him the strength and the ability to be at least one of the top scorer in spain :)

Well, that would be kinda difficult, and he really should not push himself too far to get it! But that shows off the kind of attitude he's good! With Villa, Morientes and RVN there, its tough competition, even if he was not injured. But yeah...he might just bag it in the champions league!!

It's a little ambitious, it depends whether anyone has got 15 goals by then, which on the evidence of previous seasons isn't a difficult task
so i doubt it.
