What exactly do you mean the "philosophy of pH?"

pH is used in chemistry to measure the acidity of something.

I didn't know pH had a philosophy! You may need to ask in Science & Mathematics about what pH is or look it up with "acid" & "base"

pH is a measurement of whether water is alkaline or acidic. 7.0 is neutral and most fish can live in that quite nicely.

South American fish like it more acidic....6.0-6.5.

African fish like it more alkaline.....7.5-8.5
