Will quickly flatten the battery
May wear the dog clutch on the starter
May give premature wear to flywheel gear if not pre-engaged
Will use starter brushes up quickly
Engine will keep running rich - and may carbon up

In short, unless you have a spinningly good reason for doing it, it would seem a somewhat unwise thing to do.

Start up and ten seconds turn the key shut off. Although not the best thing to do. Because when started from cold engine runs rich, repeted cold starts might flood the engine with to much fuel. In flooded condition Hold the Accelerator pedal to the floor and crank the engine. Then release the pedal and crank up the motor

Two bad things about continually trying to crank a car that won't crank.

1)Will kill the battery
2)Will overheat the starter and cause it to go bad. You have to let it cool down for about 20-30 seconds between each try.
