Hugh Grant? I always think of him as charmingly inept! Yes, INEPT! No, I pictured a young Robert Redford. I wasn't trying to stick with a brunette but more like a "studious" type.

Well, Pierce Brosnan, Hugh Laurie, from House, or Tom Cruise would've make a good Robert Langdon in the movie, but, nevertheless, Tom Hanks did a good job protraying the main character in the movie. I enjoyed it and it's almost compared to the book, which I read the summer before the movie hit theatres.

i dont think tom hanks did too well as Robert langdon... in general i enjoyed the book so much better and find the film pretty disappointing... i saw it in the cinema and i thought it was more exciting to read the book as there was no suspense and the story wasnt as developed. i know they can only put a limited amount of the story into the films but they didnt manage it very well here... i wont be buying it on dvd, thats for sure

I too read the book first and yes I thought that Tom Hanks was a definite no no. Hugh Grant definitely not. Harrison Ford would have played quite a good part.
I thought the film was a bit naph really... if you hadn't read the book it would have been hard to follow just the film.
Do you agree? Enjoyed the book immensely but I thought Dan Brown's best was 'Deception Point'. It ended up quite a good discussion between me and my daughter as she too was hooked on them...

I didn't like Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon. I thought more like Russell Crowe. Hugh Grant might have been good too.

I haven't seen the film yet, but I imagined a more studious looking Langdon played by someone like Hugh Laurie. From the photos I've seen, it looks like Hanks pulled it off.

Totally not Tom Hanks. Tom Hanks gets to play any role he wants. I could see a nerdier looking actor play him. Hugh Grant might have been ok. But I'm thinking a nerdy yet somewhat good looking guy.. hmm.. I'll have to ponder this one.

Fantastic book, not so sure about the film. Think Hugh Laurie would've been perfect to play Robert Langdon. He's just how I pictured Langdon to be when reading the book!

I like Hugh Grant, but I don't think that he has what it takes for such a serious role. Tom Hanks did a great job I thought.

The book was brilliantly written. The film was brilliantly made. But the film has been wrongly casted against the description of each characters from the book. The only the film producers have got right was the Silas character played by Paul Bettany. That's about it. The rest was dismal.
