Lips are delicate, sensitive and are the first to show signs of bruising. So if you chew them, lick them and pick at them just to amuse yourself, STOP NOW. You have received enough suggestions on what you should apply to your lips etc. so as to stop licking them. However, are you so feebleminded that you need to restore to bullying yourself to stop a bad habit??? Why can’t you just decide to stop because your lips are undoubtedly the most exquisite and sensual part of your body? They provide pleasure, and they provide function. You talk, eat, pout and kiss with them. And best of all, they can smile and brighten up a room.
Here are a few tips to pamper your lips: -
1. Dry, scaly lips have been linked to a vitamin B2 deficiency; it might be worth trying a vitamin tablet containing 10-50 mg of B2 for a month or so to see if this helps.
2. Add brushing your lips to your morning ritual. Apply Vaseline to lips and brush lightly with a soft toothbrush to get rid of dead skin. Follow up with another coat of Vaseline or lip balm.
3. Apply a generous coat of lip balm before turning in for the night. If you've run out of lip balm or Vaseline, a great substitute is eye cream. Or mix equal amounts of almond oil, glycerin and honey with rose water, shake well and apply
4. If you're going to be out in the sun, apply a moisturizing lipstick with sun block. Just because lips don't tan doesn't mean the sun's rays don't harm them

It is obvious that this unconscious and unstoppable licking of lips is due to dryness of your mouth. This may be due to many reasons but the main may be that your intake of water(I say water ,not liquids)is quite modest. This may be due to many reasons e.g. frequent visits to bathrooms. While increased intake of water may lead to this but not so much as feared. On the other hand the frequent urge to urinate may itself be some symptom which needs investigation. So first thing is increase your intake of 'water' pure H2O to at least 10-12 glasses a day. And don't drink water just because you are thirsty. When you are thirsty it means your body is crying out for water. So take care that it does not have to cry for such simple things. The dry lips is a variation of thirst only. The remedy is at you hand. Adopt it.

find a medicated chapstick that tastes really bad. or always use a LOT of chap stick. usually the stuff made from bees or the natural kinds are the worst tasting.
licking ur lips actually dries them out more. u might have already known that. it's a bad habbit. if u have LOTS of chapstick on ur lips it'll taste bad or just weird because you'll feel like ur eating the chapstick if u have a lot on
