What is the most compelling evidence, that nitwits would understand, that shows that 911 was a put up job?

There are so many compelling facts that get distorted with random hearsay, eg no Jews in the Towers etc.
I have yet to meet an informed intelligent person, and certainly none on this "soma forum" that doesn't realise the obvious fact that the Twin Towers didn't fall without pre arranged demolition, there are lots of question marks about the other official stories eg "hello mum this is Mark Bingham, do you believe me ?- ( you'd better 'cos you won't find my body) etc. But which do you think is the most compelling.
I admit that I went along with the official line for ages, but slowly, and not without extreme reluctance on my part, it became so obvious that I would have betrayed my attempt at integrity by believing it.
Also I invite anyone to prove me otherwise. I have researched more about the official theories, (Purdue University, National Geographic, Popular Mechanics etc etc) than I have about alternative theories, wanting to believe them, but all I got was my intelligence insulted.

nicolasra, you misunderstood my use of the word "soma" it was a reference to Brave New World-Soma, "the drug with all the advantages of Christianity and alcohol, with none of the defects" nothing to do with cancer.
As far as my use of "nitwits" was concerned; I did not call anyone nitwits, I was looking for something that could persuade nitwits, and fully acknowledge that I am a nitwit myself.
David W. thanks for that, I think the official line is that there was a massive training exercise that day that meant normal response was not available-so they have that a bit covered, that pre planned covering though is a bit of a cause for speculation.

I think that the fact that there were no fighter jets sent to intercept any of the planes is a difficult one to explain, if you believe the government conspiracy theory.
I know there were no fighter jets, because there were no planes, but those with their heads still in the sand definitely will not buy that one.
But you could ask.
'It's a known fact that NORAD, the North American Radar Air Defence system, maintains two squadrons of fighter jets on permenent stand by at Andrews Airbase.
Jets were scrambled 67 times between September 2000 and June 2001.

How can it be that no jets were scrambled from Andrews airbase on 11th September 2001, when they had 1 hour and 40 minutes notice between the first notification of hijack, and the crash into the Pentagon'.

No matter what anyone thinks, they can never believe that Arabs took control of the United States Airforce.

david, below. have you heard the norad tapes of 9/11? I suggest you listen to them. It will answer your questions. The plane tracking devices were disabled from the airliners. Where would you scramble the jets to? They did not know most planes were hijacked, only missing, until the last minute.

Furthermore, the defense system is designed to scramble jets to intercept traffic coming into the US, not already inside. If you don't have a target, you can not scramble a jet to it.

Also, sperate Jets were eventually scrambled to the whitehouse, which intercepted each other do to lack of adequate communication.

General observation on conspiracy theories in general:

People who ascribe to them in many cases, seem to do so due to intellectual laziness. In other words, they have a pre-concieved vision of what they think is reality and then throw out these "facts" to make up a conspiracy theory that supports their word view.

Case in point: There exist many people that hate America or the "neo-cons" or Bush and are against the war on terrorism and/or Iraq. The view that this was all started by Bush and Co. to further what they think is their interests is a compelling view for them that fits in with the above. Thus, they latch onto a conspiracy theory that validates this.
The reason why this is (at the very least) intellectually lazy is that it requires no effort on their part to PROVE ANYTHING.
No matter what argument anyone to the right of center (or for that matter, anyone who thinks differenttly then they) brings forth, no matter how logical or reasaonable it is, can be dismissed by a "well, its a consipacy by Bush and Co.... look at the Towers.. it was a controled demolition, etc."
Well, guess what? That conspiracy theory has never been PROVEN. And until its proven, stop wasting everyone's time by babbling about it.

For that matter, not a single conspiracy theory has ever been proven for anything (e.g. the Kennedy assasination... YES, its never been proven). Since conspiracy theories have such a dismal track record I would think that would show that they are bunk.

The Illuminati have done a most impressive job of brainwashing the masses. Watch a video of the towers collapsing. It is blatantly obvious that it was a controlled demolition. There were only small fires burning in each tower. Then you can see the explosives detonating, and the tower begins it's collapse at the speed of gravity. It's ok people, just go back to sleep. Molten steel was found under all three building including WTC7; which did not even get hit by a jet. If that in itself is not enough to convince most people that it was a demolition then a combination of some of the other evidence might be in order.

Most all the evidence that is available to us, show that the WTC buildings were rigged with explosives. Our own government had motive as was well as an opportunity to do this crime. Here is the evidence, presented for your scrutiny.

Molten, beyond red hot, "steel" was video recorded coming out of the South Tower just before it collapsed. Jet fuel does not burn hot enough to turn steel to liquid.

MOTIVE
The New Conservatives (Neo-Cons), with the help of their friends, started planning the invasion of Iraq, shortly after Pres. Bush took office. Apparently, the plan would include the attack of the WTC buildings. It did this to get the support of congress and the nation, to attack Iraq. Read it from their own PENAC document. OPPORTUNITY
Witnesses saw a work crew going into the WTC buildings with rolls of wire, supposedly for internet upgrades. Tenants were moved around while crews "upgraded" the cable systems. The Port Authority cut power to the building for a whole weekend, just prior to the attack; shutting down the entire security systems. Witnesses also heard crews operating heavy hammering equipment that left a gray cement like dust, in the building. This activity took place just weeks before the 911 attack: The Port Authority had released control of the buildings to Larry Silverstein, six weeks prior to the attack: He made upwards of $5 billion off of the attack.
