Look for things that are not of a certain gender if you wish. You can't know your baby's sex yet and you would be wasting money to buy dresses if the child is a boy.
Many older people who have been through alot and seen alot think it is wise to wait past 3 months to make sure your pregnancy does not result in complications...some even feel you should wait longer. Buying baby clothes creates a strong bond and expectation and if you should experience complications and lose your baby it would be harder for you to accept if you have purchased baby items too soon. Of course ...loving you as much as she does ...she would not want to tell you the reason behind her recommendation as she would not want to "plant" worries in your head ...as we older people say .
I'm sure things will turn out just fine for you and your baby ...I'll keep you in my prayers and know that you mom or grandma loves you very much ( couldn't figure out exactly who m8 is) .

You always want to have clothes for your baby before it is born. Maybe if it makes your *M8* uncomfortable then i guess you can wait a bit. Buy something simple, for like 4 days maybe, and when you are out of that hospital, go shopping with the baby with your *m8*
~Glad to help

I am almost 37 weeks and I was just like you. I went out and bought a bunch of gender neutral clothes. My Dr. didn't do an ultrasound until 29 weeks, so it was torture for me. Then, I found out it was a girl and all the things that I bought before and thought were cute just didn't cut it anymore. I took almost everything back and went shopping again. If you like to shop, then go for it! If you don't want the hassle of returns (especially when you start nesting) then I would wait!

You can look! You are not in a rush...and it doesn't matter if you choose to find out the gender or not, there are still cute clothes out there that are adorable for a baby, boy or girl!!
I would say, look...but wait to buy, maybe you'll find it on sale, or find something you like better.
Besides, I am sure you will get lots of gifts!!
Congrats and good luck!

I'm 16 weeks along and only got a few furniture items. I would wait a few more months. We will be finding out the gender Nov 8th, so after that we'll shop more. If you don't find out the gender, wait until about 14 weeks when your "risk-period" is over. You will less likely lose the baby after that. Good luck!

go for it! nothing is more fun than shopping. make sure to keep the receipts, though, so that you can return anything just in case you buy for the wrong gender.

I think that as long as you know the sex of the baby, it's never too soon.
