miss that show so much, that Cartoon Network must bring that show on the air. David Jason does an excellent voice of the crazy count. Mike Hardings does excellent music. Brian Truman, Jack May, are great for Nanny and Igor, and the villain Professor von Goosewink (a la Professor von Hellsing). Ruby Wax does the various voices (mostly the pretty lady roles). And as always Barry Clayton is the narrator. They have a castle that can warp itself to any place, real or fictious. When the Castle warps it reminds me of POLTERGIEST at the end where the house implodes.
Nanny's voice reminds me of those Monty Python voices. It is soooo hilarious! The animation seems a little 70's-ish (i.e. repetative). This cartoon like all other cartoons and T.V. shows, spoof movies, and other shows. The credits are crazy! Keep your eyes peeled when you hear the part of the closing credits where it goes, "or your minds go.." there is alway something crazy in the credits like in the episode that spoofs weterns, where the credits says Stage coach something-something-something. or in the episode "Amnesic Duck" where the credits says memories...Erm... Duckula is a vegetarian vampire, best quote: "It's not easy being a vampire duck!" I don't where they get this idea to create this loveable cartoon. I think the inspiration was those graphic Hammer Dracula movies, or a British version of the 70's American cartoon character Quackula. Originally he was in those DANGER MOUSE episodes where he is a villain. My brother Merrill didn't like him because he had freaky looking eye-brows. The vampire duck appeared special guest in the early 90's British cartoon, VICTOR AND HUGO (the animation is cheap). If you are an 80's child, then watch it for old times sake!
