I think Samsonov deserved to stay on the second line. Latendresse is still new to the NHL and should have more experience before moving up to the second line. Last night, Samsonov proved that he didn't deserve to get demoted to the fourth line. Good job, Sammy.

well after the loss to buffalo a couple of games ago he blurted out to the media that he was frustrated being demoted to the 4th line and that sitting on the bench he was no use to the team and pondered why was he really needed in montreal.
well he scored twice tonight and scored in the shootout so i think he earned to stay on kovalev's line for a little while longer

He has been demoted to the 4th line and he may have asked for a trade according NESN's airing of the postgame show against the Bruins.

I don't know why he gets upset when demoted, the hawks get changed around all the time. I think Tallon tried to get samsonov in the off season but the little bugger didn't want to play in chi town.

I read on tsn.ca or thehockeynews.com that he got demoted to the fourth line but I didn't read the article
