Here is another question: how many people do you know who are NOT in high debt due to credit cards, college loans or mortgages and car payments ? Wages are not, and have not increased for decades but we are increasingly poor er with out savings or even health insurance.

you made me chuckle a little bit...

I don't think any of our "class" distinctions are truly accurate and I futher don't think people on the left or right would agree on the thresholds. I have witnessed gross examples where unscrupulous "poor" individuals have taken advantage and lied to bilk the system. One woman I used to work with was getting free aid to private high school, WIC, and other government aid for child care and groceries (and she routinely bragged about it) while taking vacations to Las Vegas and DisneyWorld with five children all in designer clothing (e.g. Tommy Hilfiger) from three different fathers. So while the government classifies this woman as "poor", she enjoys many luxuries that most families in this country, including my family, go without - and the government would probably classify me as rich. I am not painting a broad brush, just providing anectodal evidence to back up my concerns.

You seem seriously confused and in the habit of repeating some of the shibboleths of the far-left and far-right wingers. What is your point?

When welfare recipients have cable tv and air conditioning the poor are the myth in this country. People in this country have no idea what abject poverty really is. People in this country need to expand their horizons.

there is no 3 class system it's now a 100+ class system, you have upper class, lower class, homeless, obsenly rich, average, looks rich but is actually near bankruptcy from maintaining that apperance, fluctuating, and it goes on and on.
