Slow start-up : what could be wrong?

I have been driving 2001 Accord for quite some now, but lately I've noticed that my car's pick-up from complete stop has gone down tremendeously. When starting from the complete stop I have to race the car more to go to a speed of 30MPH and my RPM needle keeps bouncing between 2K-3.5K RPM. Also, I have noticed the during start up the engine has to put in more effort to move and makes little bit of noise. So, what could be possibly wrong with my car? Is it timing belt or transmisson or somefluid level or battery? I'm not able to figure it out?

it could be a combination of all sadly cars are worse then the most whinnest person. i would check all fluid levels, run some lucas thru the fuel system to clean it and the injectors out., check the battery h2o and charge/ and it's connections. how old is the oil and filter/ air filter? is the engine running hot? check the radiator ..for coolent level and h2o. also sounds like the timing is slipping a bit it's not a huge problem it just needs to be adjusted back to it's proper level..check all those and it should solve the problem..i had a honda so i'm aware of this problem......good luck:)

it is kind of tough to say. Good car, but also depends how many miles are on it. It may be something with the battery or it may even be time for a tune up. if you havent goten a tune up yet, and your over 25k, then replace the plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, oil, fuel filter, oil filter, pcv filter, and while you do that, also check all of your fluids. It may very well be the transmission as well. a gear can slip and you should check that out. assuming you have an automatic tranny, then i would check the transmission with a computer, a shop can do that no problem, and then consider the tune up anyways, just because it will make your ride smoother.

Without looking at the car, it could be any number of things. It could be anything from engine damage, stuck emergency brake, slipping transmission, low transmission fluid etc...
Best to have it looked at by a tech before there is anymore damage done or it leaves you setting on the side of the road.
