Join the crowd! Grandmother of five and still dress like that! It's me. I have heard I should dress "more my age" but what's that? Isn't it all in one's mind and body..Odd? No just in touch with the real you!

I used to wear the same label when my kids were younger and actually had another parent complain about how I dressed simply because I dressed different. Mind you I was never into the mini skirts and high heels sort of thing but tended to wear original painted jeans (that I had done myself) and that sort of thing. I got on really well with the kids at the school and the teachers respected my help as they new I did actually have brains. My kids have always described me as different and I would always say "Okay will got down to Kmart and by a drab dress and some hair rollers' While most of the other mums were wearing those dresses I was doing aerobic competitions and wining them. I never wore much makeup other than a bit of lipstick either. I always got to go on camp with the kids as the teacher knew that not only did the kids like me but I was great help.
So be original and dont worry about what the others say as they are jealous. Your kids would not want you to be like the other mums and it does not effect how they themselves do at school as my kids have done very well with my daughter getting high distinctions every year so far.
Now that I am older I do dress a little bit more conservative but still like the nice clothes. I now have the problem that when I do buy something I only have it home for 2 minutes and my daughter who is the same size as me grabs it and I never see it again. The worst part is she usually looks better in it as well, but I dont really mind.
So be yourself as you have plenty of time to be older when you actually are.

I'm 22 and the mother of 2 little girls- I rarely ever wear makeup and NEVER do anything special with my hair. My usual wardrobe consists of jeans or sweatpants and a t-shirt. I'll usually be wearing a ponytail. I don't think as mothers we HAVE to dress or act a certain way. As long as we aren't setting a bad example for our children and are teaching them discipline then who cares? I would rather my daughters grow up in a home where mommy can go out in public with daddy without makeup and he'll still put his arm around her- yes, love yourself and take pride in yourself- but don't base all of that on looks.

Be yourself. Be positive. This will send the best role model message to your kids.
Although I was born late in my parent's life (Mom was 37, Dad 44 and this was old for having kids in the mid 50's), we still enjoyed playing board games, going to movies, etc. I never cared, and frankly don't remember what they wore, but cherished the fun family times we had.
By the way, my Dad passed away while I was a junior in high school, and so took some care to have Mom come out to some dances as my "date" and she had fun learning some of the "new" moves.

How does a mother look? Mothers come in all shapes and sizes. Some dress fashionably and others don't care about fashion. As long as you have a healthy relationship with your children and don't neglect them, then your looks don't particularly matter. It sounds like you're a good mother who is aware of what is going on in the lives of her children. I would suggest that you take the time to take care of yourself every once in a while. And don't let negative people doubt your ability to parent based on the way you dress.

Stay just the way you are. You spend "quality" time with your children, not "quanity" time. You must be doing something right if you have well-behaved children.
As for the way you are dressing, I am 34 and still wear jeans and t-shirts, am a mom of 2 children. My mother is a grandma of 10 grandchildren and she still dresses in jeans and t-shirts.

You sound like you're a great mom! My mother never played video games with me. I did manage to get her to play once. It was Super Mario Brothers on original NES. She fell into the first hole, and refused to play again. I just really wanted her to play with me, but she didn't.
I can tell you lots of things a mom shouldn't be, though.

28 is like a teen age these days, enjoy, I'm 42 but i am who i am and i never forget that "I ROCK!"
My kids are proud of me, they're not all embarrassed to come up to me or wave by to me, like I was. even in my KISS t-shirt
by the way my hair and face are practically virgins to cosmetics, except for a semi permanent hair color (washes out) and to cover a cursed zit on my nose

I believe you should be yourself and never live by what other people do or say. The best advise I can give you is to make yourself happy as well as your family. If they like you the way you are everything is in place. Don't move it.
