Because it makes them look clever/proactive/in control/doing something, etc.

It can be annoying and it can be pathetic but it's part of the human condition, I'm afraid.

PS Oddly enough, the question would work just as well if it said, "something that is NOT broken"!

There is a fable although it's fake it carries a very important lesson. The story of Adam and Eve is about a couple seeking perfection by eating fruit that would make them more perfect and powerful. That is what humans constantly strive for is perfection convinced that the situation at the time is not good enough. People feel depressed with a broken heart and thus seek to heal it to dull the pain. A broken spirit when a person is worn out and no longer sees the point in life is sometime helped by another person to see them live a prosperous life. If someone can afford a new table they have to fix the old one to rest stuff on it lol.

Hope my answer helped.
Until next time yours truly,

It is cheap and easy to fix a broken chair, and it saves the expense of buying a new one. A broken spirit and heart, are quite a different kettle of fish. A broken spirit may not want to be mended, or may be too far gone to even attempt such a thing. A broken heart will, as we all know, gradually mend it`s self; and it is very often far better not to interfere.

Because they can't afford to throw away a broken heart, table, spirit. The ones I love are those who fix things that ain't broke, like education, old peoples homes, millionaires and druggies

If we start off with something in one condition we tend to think that's how it's meant to be and therefore that's how it should stay. If these things break we try to repair them to make them "right" again.

Some people also feel that when something is in a broken state it is no longer of any worth. Nobody wants to give up something they like (and we do tend to like the things we possess) so we'll try every method to restore it rather than just give up on it.

Because, I do not like to see broken things. I like to fix things, I guess. Would you rather to leave things broken, or just wait awhile to see if it will fix itself. Good Luck. Sounds like you are really hurting. So sorry.

Why do people try to fix things that aren't broken is more to the point.

If you don't fix it ..it will remain broken..would you want a broken hart for ever ..I don't think so..
I say if it's got more life in it.. then fix it ..but if it's reaching the end of it's life circle.. then replace it ..
