Only if its a Harley frame, engines and running gear for them are easy to come by, if its a ricer, toss it -- they are called " throw-away bikes " for a reason. also like a number of others said be sure it's not stolen

My exact thoughts, it is almost certainly stolen. Take it back to where you got it, or call the police and report you found what seems to be a stolen motorcycle frame, and wonder if owner wants it back.

Even if you found it, the police don't know that, and you will be investigated for a felony, which vehicle theft is. I doubt it is worth it. Buy a licensed motorcycle.

I think you would be better off finding a complete bike and fixing or restoring it .
Frames have a serial number that link to the ownership of the bike, if you found a motorbike frame, chances are its the left overs from a stolen bike, if thats the case dont get caught with it. Cops can run that serial number and find out if its stolen or not.

the most expensive part of the m,motorcycle is the engine, then the wheels, than the frame. You will save yourself alto of money by using the frame, but get it checked out first. It could be bent or have hairline cracks, all of which can be potentially deadly.

It's usually much cheaper to buy a whole motorcycle than put it together part by part. I've known guys who have bought whole, somewhat ratty, bikes for the parts on them because it would have been more expensive to track down the parts individually.

Usually, the cost of building a custom bike, is about twice the cost of buying one, and that's not including the cost of your labor. Then you have to have it inspected and licensed by your state.

Don't mess with it. There's a reason you found it. Its either unsafe or stolen.
