Me and boyfriend were out at mall and we started to make-out and people were all telling us to "get a room" and "stop doing that in public". I don't see what we did wrong. We're out in public, and we have the right to kiss whenever.

No, and Yes...
"Get a room" is more a joke for your b/f, than a statement of wrongness. (this is an old joke before your time.)
What you "DO" in front of your grandmother is usually different than in private. Being in public there are children and being aware of this you will never have to wonder what actions are correct. In an adult function - where there are no children present - PDA is common. At church and around parents/grandparents and children rarely are PDA ever seen.

KNOW WHERE YOU ARE WHILE IN THE PASSION OF A PDA.

It's not necessarily wrong, but some people just don't like to see it. Some things should be done in private. A hug and a little kiss is ok. Personally, I don't know why people would want to make out in public in front of a lot of people anyway. I think a lot has to do with age. Younger people (teenagers) generally don't care about that kind of thing. But it's your life and if thats what you choose to do then other people's opinions shouldn't matter

Public displays are inappropriate conduct in public, and you can get in trouble for that if you are in a mall and they are with children, you could be asked to leave. You dont have the right to do that anywhere you want.

I think there is a time and place for everything.
Holding hands or a peck on the cheek are ok but down right making out is a little to the extreme.
Here is a web site that better might help you understand why some feel its inapproaite.

No but there is a time and a place for all things some displays of affection need to be reserved for at home or in an adult crowd only.

That is crude behavior my dear. I was guilty of it myself in my younger days. It's hard to be young and full of hormones and new emotions. Please keep your smooching(the heavy type) for private. It is perfectly acceptable to hold hands or kiss goodbye in public just keep the kiss brief.

I don't think so - I like to see it. Makes a nice change from seeing people be grumpy, aggressive or even violent towards each other.

actually you do have the right to do that under one of the ammendments but if you start climbing all over each other that's when it's time to back off a little
