Detroit has no reason to be upset with Leyland's managerial skills. The Tigers had a great season and they would be foolish to blame it on Leyland. The fault lies most on the pitching staff of the Tigers as well as the quiet bats in the line up.

I hope this is a joke.
Anyone who thinks Leyland should be fired after taking a team that won 71 games the year before and had 100 loss seasons recently, then took them all the way to the World Series is an idiot.
And if you're saying he ruined the World Series, you're wrong about that too.
This question doesn't even deserve ONE OUNCE of respect.
Jim Leyland is one of the best coaches in the game. Period.

Never, because the Tigers will be stupid if they do fire Leyland. Why would you fire a manager after shocking the world with their play in the regular season and playoffs. It is not Leyland's fault the Tiger pitchers threw the ball away. It is not Leyland's fault that Ordonez/Granderson and others did not hit. You had a young team against a team with experience and an angry team for getting sweped by the Red Sox.

It'll be a while or until he feels like retiring. The Tigers should reward Jim Leyland for at least getting them to the World Series. They definetly won't fire him.

Leyland will remain as long as he wants, Dombrowski is very close to him, he has done nothing to deserve being fired, I'm a Yankee fan and I respect the man,his team was simply beaten by a more experienced and determined St Louis team and that is all you have to look at.His team went from losing over 100 games to a World Series, that takes special kind of manager.

are you out of your mind? why fi9re someone for not winning a world series. most teams will not fire a manager for not winning a world series in their first year. i think a team usually fires a manager after a couple of losing seasons. jim leyland turned a subpar team to a good team in one season. he deserves respect for turning around this organization. he also should get a raise. the pitchers and outfield were to blame for the world series losses.

The Tigers have absolutely no intention of firing Jimmy Leyland because the Tigers lost the World Series. Where ever did you get that idea?

Leyland deserves a raise or contract extension for what he accomplished with this team. Remember the Tigers are a few years removed from 100 losses.

certainly the Marlins. did not comprehend Leyland talked some experience "out of" Barry Bonds - possibly it really is why Bonds went to PEDs? particular you meant - talked experience into Bonds. Leyland might want to finally be contained in the HOF.

They won't.
Jim Leyland is the main reason why The Detroit Tigers made it as far as they did.
Sounds to me like you might be a whinny sux fan.
