I'm saying nothing against them but the media does nothing to promote the gay cabbie profile. if like george michael he had been cruising public parks/toilets on the prowl would you not worry he would fall asleep at the wheel?
if they had the temperament of elton john would you not worry that changing your mind about the destination could provoke a foot stamping drama queen tantrum thus distracting him from the road?
or, if it was someone like saun from coronation street he would be constantly ogling you in the rear view mirror/dropping stuff into the back seat to cop a cheap feel.
maybe they had best stick to hairdressing.

I'm gay and I've never gone 'cruising', I never act like a drama queen, I don't automatically ogle any passing man, I would never touch another man inappropriately - and the same goes for most of my gay friends as well. In fact, if you met is in our local 'straight' boozer you most likely wouldn't know we're gay at all. The people who you see and recognise to be gay are just those who are visible because they conform to a stereotype that's been perpetuated by the media. In reality, we're all individuals. Get real.

you are throwing around the stereo types that promote bigotry and hatred toward GLBT people. they are there to perform a service regardless of their lifestyle if they drive cabs that is what they do.. would you worry if the waiter at your favorite restaurant was gay. would you be afraid to send something back because he might have a "hissy fit" this question is totally absurd. one lifestyle or sexual preference does not limit their ability to function as normal responsible adults. I happen to know a lot of straight people who are prone to temper tantrums if they don't get their way either. be realistic and stop perpetuating these negative images of people who are no different than you are.

I have family that are cabbie's, both mail and female - they have enuff to deal with without idiots like you addin to the list.
I suggest you try doin that job for a night - gettin your throat cut is far more of a concern that some dam puff loosing his handbag - and trust me I have met peeps in the past that you would swear were gay and they weren't......oh and beofre you all go mad I am a Lesbian.
