I have NEVER seen an expensive gerbil.

I would suggest to go to Petco or Petsmart and get a Petco Pals card or a Petsmart Pals card so you can get dicounts on things. I got my bird for cheap at Petsmart. The brid alone was only $20. She is a great companion. Some gerbils are really cheap at these stores. You can also find somone who has a gerbil, and if it has babies, you can probably get one for free.

at the RMS aquiculture, gerbils are for 5.99 each. i dont know if there are rms's in michigan, though. try pet supplies plus?

at the pet store they are only ten dollars or less and you know they are healthy then too!
