I have a "friend" who talks non stop! She has made me late for appointments even when I tell her I have to go! She's very nice but she just doesn't know when to shut up! I don't want to hurt her feelings but I've already tried to let her know that I had a prior comittment. Last time I had to actually walk out on my front porch for her to get up and I was 20 minutes late to an appointment! GRRR! HELP!

Well if you have already tried to tell her, then maybe when you get together with her and stuff, you should plan it way in advance. So you won't be late to an appoitment. I mean she can't talk forever, so really be patient, and really maybe you should talk to her parents. Not to get her introuble but you know just maybe her parents can tell her. So yah, um good luck!

I don't know that there is a way to tell someone to "shut up" without being rude. Consider not entering into a conversation with her unless you know that you will have a considerable amount of time to spare.

Just say," Hey, Hey, HEY!!! I have to go and I'm in a hurry so talk to you laterz, aight? Bye" then hang up. Don't give her time to talk then you Just hang up. It's that easy. Then when you see her again tell her that you want some peace and quiet and that your not trying to be rude, but that you want her to shut up and to give you time to talk too.
Well Peace and best of luck!

Easy, tell her, "Please stop talking-I have to tell you something: I've gotta go and I'll talk to you later." or say "I'd like to keep listening but I've got an appointment that I cannot be late to."

If it's on the phone-just tell her that and hang up.
If it's in person, say what I suggested and then get up, tell her bye and leave.

this one very easy for me.if you not hear any voice that mean you free right now is your decision are you willing to do it or not tell the truth if you have appointment before you getting late you better leave that solve the problem if you keep listening so that's mean you agree what they said.

If you tell this person time and time again that you don't have time and they insist upon talking you need to come right out with it........Tell her....not now, I have to go....goodbye! Or.....I wish you would please stop talking......tell her she talks too much..........my friends have told me that before....and I have told them too..........good friends can tell each other these things.......it's healthy to tell people what they are like..........if everyone did this.....therapists would be outta business!
