Anyone seen 'Escape from New York' - this is where Manhatten Island is turned into a maximum security prison for all bad guys. You never get out and have to fend for yourself. This could work! No more bad people. Just need to choose where we build a 60 foot security wall. I thought of the Isle of Wight, but I like it there. So, it has to be Wales. What do you think?

The Isle of Man would work as a prison island. We had a German POW camp there during the Second World War, just get the population of the Isle of Man somewhere else and get a few patrol boats to patrol the sea around the island in case anyone tries to get off the island.

No, not the Isle of Wight!!!! It's one of the few last remaining homes of the red squirrel. They'd barbecue them!
How about North - one of those lovely little islands which are ferociously cold in winter. They could sit there and knit Aran sweaters and sell them to the rest of the world.

The idea behind prisons is to protect the public AND rehabilitate the offender. I don't think escape from the isle of man will achieve the latter.

I like your idea, sounds good to me, haha I like the bit about Isle of Wight, I would like to go there too and Wales does not appeal to me so yeah Wales is the best place for them!!

Hackney is the worst borough in the entire UK so obviously the ideal area. If a school is failing it's shut down so why not scrap a failing borough or better still fence it and turn it into a high security prison.

He He He scratch an Englishman and you find the nasty creepy xenophobe underneath - just look at what people are saying about the Welsh and the Scottish.
However no, stupid idea, need more innovative sentencing, more modern prisons building, and less predjudice generally in the UK.

Ive got a better solution. Stop putting grannies in jail for not paying thier council tax and other such rediculous jailing tactics.
Jail is to protect the public from dangerous criminals, thats why they are locked up.
