I just had a baby as well, and he used to do that. As long as she doesnt seem hungry, her weight gain is fine, and shes going to the bathroom well, its alright. Although, she's probably awake alot during the night and this is why. Try waking her every 4 hours instead of every 2. I was advised to wake my son every 3-4 hrs if he didnt wake to eat, but sometimes he didnt want to wake up to eat, and now he's 10 wks old, and weighs 12 lbs lol...so as long as she's gaining weight and using the bathroom alright, you shouldnt have anything to worry about! Good luck...hope I was of some help

Your doctor is happy with her health, so don't worry! Babies aren't machines - they're all different. They also haven't yet learnt to eat when they're not hungry - don't teach her this unnecessary skill! I was told by my mother and my Plunket Nurse (an organisation in New Zealand dedicated to mother/baby health) that children will not starve themselves. As your daughter grows, remember this. She may not eat a balanced diet every day, but over the course of a month or so, it will balance out. Offer her nothing but healthy food, and she will eat a healthy diet. If she won't eat all her dinner, she's not in a growth spurt at the moment. She'll eat when she needs the nutrients/calories, so don't offer her highly tasty, non-nutritious junk instead.
Meantime, as others have said, enjoy your extra sleep time! Your milk supply will adjust to her demand - isn't it marvellous that you don't have to worry about buying formula, sterilizing bottles, mixing formula, heating her feeds to the right temperature, throwing away (wasting) food she won't take... Enjoy your baby, you're doing fine!

At only 11 days old, I would not let her have more than one longer stretch of sleep like that. She should be eating about every 2 hours around the clock, AT LEAST 8-12 feedings in a 24 hour period.

Take baby's clothes off. Strip her down to a diaper.
Use a cool cloth on her face and neck.
Play with her feet, tickle her toes.
Do gentle "baby situps" with her in your lap.

If she's gaining weight and filling diapers, she's fine. Both my kids (one is now 4 years and the other is 8 months) did this as well and they're both fine.

sounds ok to me. They suggest feeding every two hours but every baby is different. If she will sleep, then let her sleep, but try to wake her. Are you nursing? sometimes if you are then the pain killers that you might still betaking can cause a baby to sleep more. Like Lortab. congrats on a new baby.

Don't worry, your baby will eat when she is hungry. As long as the doctor says her weight is good take this as a good sign. It's actually a blessing that you get to sleep for five hours at a time! Enjoy it.

Your baby is obviously thriving. Breastfeeding can be very daunting keep up the good work.
If still worried ask your doctor I am sure they can set your mind at ease

it is in basic terms wonderful my toddler slept all evening from 11- 6 or seven at 2 weeks previous and he or she has continually been very healthful. in basic terms feed on call for yet now no longer than 4 hrs and pump after 2 hrs if it is her recurring for each 4 hrs., via fact will slow your grant down.

Apparently the idiot nursing nazi nurses got ahold of you.

LET SLEEPING BABIES SLEEP!

Trust me, if your daughter is hungry she will wake up and eat. If she is not, she won't. I wouldn't freak out unless she had noticibly fewer diapers (over the course of a whole day) or was losing weight.

I don't understand this new bs the nursing nazi's are teaching. Let your little angel sleep, you both need the rest!
