i wouldn't advise it, your car is a top performance vehicle and your engine is designed for top end fluids..it probably won't hurt it though you will probably notice it may run slightly sluggish on the take off and things to that effect. your injectors will clog up quicker due to that fact it's not a super clean fuel and it also lacks the additives to help clean out your fuel system and injectors that keep your car running smoothly. when your injectors and fuel system are clean you also get more MPG , so it's up to you....

An 03 325 is ok. If you start to hear some pinging then you can throw in some premium. The new 325,330,and 335 advise 91 octane or better. You can use the cheap stuff but the engine will run a tad hotter, it will ping a little at the drive thru, regular service will be required sooner, and horsepower will be decreased by the engine management control. I had to sign a form agreeing to use only premium in my company car ....06 330i.

Yes, you can fuel your BMW with 87. I had a 2007 328xi and from the day i picked it up from the dealer i put 87 octane. I am confident about this because i work at a BMW dealer and every BMW loaner car is fueled with 87 octane. Expect slighty less performance, almost unoticeably. Fueling your vehicle with low grade octane will eventually cause a pinging noise from the engine after a while. Also don't switch back and forth between octane grades. The car will adapt to your driving habits and fuel grade.

Sure, but your performance will sag considerably. Why even bother driving the BMW if you are gonna rag on it? Wisen up. Break the wallet and pay for Premium. Shell Optimax or whatever they call it in the U.S., I forgot, is the best premium fuel on the market and BMW recommended.

Octane rating has nothing to do with performance. It's just a measure of how much you can compress it before it self-combusts. True, when you get an octane rating at or just under the engine's minimum, erratic combustion will reduce performance.

What does the manual recommend? It's best to go with what the car's manual says.

In the newer BMW's you can actually use a lower test gasoline, by lower I dont' mean the lowest but mid test gasoline is fine to use. It used to be that in the older fragile BMW engines you had to run high test but they now have changed that and you can run mid test.

use the high grade it will run better plus bmw recomends that you do. if you put the cheap stuff you might get some knocking or pinging from the motor

Believe it or not, you get better gas mileage with the recommended octane, so the savings in price per gallon is offset by miles per gallon. You gain nothing, and risk hurting your motor.

I wouldn't!! You own a high performance vehicle, why would you put low performance fuel into it? I own an X5 and would never use regular in it!
