Banff is the sweetest town in Canada. Party central. I lived in Banff / Sunshine village for 7 months and it was the time of my life.

If you like clubs:
Hoodoos and Aurora are the 2 in Banff.

Pubs:
My favorite was the Rose and Crown. Excellent food. There is an abundence of places to drink in Banff... pretty much every corner. Check out Wild Bills and Tommys. The Pump and Tap is an interesting place also.

If you plan on eating cheap there is a Mickey D's (classiest MC D's ive ever seen.. fire place and all) and a safeway right on Banff ave.

Check out the Banff gondola, Very cool up there. Dont forget to go to the hotsprings (pretty much right next to the gondola)

As for skiing.. Make sure you check out Sunshine Village. Get a nice 15 minute gondola ride to the village. Great skiing, great snow. If your up for it check out Delirium Dive, you will need avi gear to get in though. Its alot of fun.

Lake louise is also a beautiful place to go altho its a bit further away from Banff then Sunshine. They just installed a new gondola. Beautiful views, and more great skiing. Good bowls around the back. They also have a sick sick park.

Also Mt Norquay is right in Banff. Its only OK compared to Sunshine and Lake Louise

Also check out the Hostel International up tunnel mountain. They always know whats going on in Banff and you can meet lots of others who are travelling.

Oh and for good eats try the Maple leaf or the Saltlik. Both are pretty $$$

I've been to Banff and rode at Sunshine and Lake Louise a number of times. I love it. Personally, I prefer Sunshine Village, but I will always go to Louise for at least one day just for the bowls on the back side of the mountain.

Some Banff hints: good cheap hot food at the Safeway grocery store: saves a lot in place of restaurants. If you want to splurge on a nice meal then try Saltlicks - it is fabulous. As far a "singles" life: I couldn't tell you. I spend every possible moment on the slopes and just eat and crash in town.
