Hi, where are you now? Just email me and maybe I can help you better. In Louisiana, the Governor has set up a program called Road 2 Home which is helping families for up 150,000 for their homes. FEMA really did a number on us too, we applied for damage, waited 4 months and never got paid.
I would talk to the city parish government that you are in, and then get in touch with churches in your area, and contact Habitat for Humanity. Also, talk with Social Services, as they can help with yall's everyday needs, especially since you are on SSI.

Good Luck to you, there are alot of people that do not understand what we are going through here in Louisiana and it is more than just getting a job!

if you belong to a church maybe there is someone skilled in your church or knows someone that would be able to help.....remember it was the churches and private citizens who were the first to help out during the crisis...
i would check and see if they are still able to help

The best thing for you to do is to go to your local church.

I know how hard it can be....

My kind answer would be to try a local church or Salvation Army post.

Where I would like to be able to send you is:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/

But they don't like poor people that don't vote republican.
