Getting married and divorced certainly does keep them in the news and may possibly help their career. On the other hand, I think it is simply incredibly difficult for a famous person to remain mentally healthy with such an outrageous amount of public exposure, and therefore nearly impossible to maintain a healthy relationship. I wish people would stop buying mags that promote invasion of privacy so these people can walk their dog without some journalist trying to shove a camera up their dog's butt just to get an embarrassing celeb photo.
Besides, most people don't stay married for more than a few years in this country. The marriage contract is just not working for most people any more. It was originally meant as a financial contract when women weren't allowed to get real jobs like men were, and when people tended to not live as long as they do now. People just don't have to put up with each other like they use to and a lot of men don't know how to be respectful of a woman yet. They're still in that mind frame of, "it's the woman's job to.....". Of course that's on top of having to go to work for money outside the home all day. So women are still treated like endentured servants in many households. I don't think it will really get better until men and women learn to be equal in a healthy way, sharing the burdens of life equally and joyfully.

You have to put yourself in their shoes. When your in Hollywood and become a big star there are publisity stunts and sometimes there is real life problems that affect their marriages when their rols as an actor or actress causes their mates to become violently jelous.
When you see a love scene in a movie and it's your wife or your husband doing the part, you can get really mixed emotions about your job and his job expecially when both of you are stars.
The craddle rocks and tips over and sooner or later divorce is imminent and the love is gone.
If the role causes for real time sex and they're paid dearly for it oo, again the marriage is torn apart by his or her job.
Being married and being a Star especially when both of you must do your jobs for who you are there will alwasy be delimas that lead to divorce again and again and again.
Joan Crawford was a very good actress with mental problems and she always wanted the best and the best cost money and when money ran out, she drank herself drunk and started to date other Men even though, she was married and sooner or later her divorce would lead her to another rich Man and again until her drinking became so bad, that she eventually died a lonely woman.
Stardom to success is wonderful, but you must draw the line when to bail out when your health is at risk. Those long night party's wear down the stars and drugs do not make it easier.
Robert Downy Jr., should be able to tell you how his success almost crippled his life because of drugs and wild party's for being a star.
Richard Pryor another one to adventure into the drug world and it crippled him,
Sam Kinisoon, women, party;'s drugs and Booze kill the Mockingbird all the time without self control no star will survive the blow of success and I mean BLOW...End of Story

Do you know what kind of things these people have to endure? Believe me I don't condone any of it, but think of this. How would you feel if you fell in love and married someone famous, now, all other women...and I mean ALL other women are "in love" with him. He's constantly kissing gorgeous, beautiful, sexy women AS HIS JOB. He loves you with all his heart, but you can't tell me he NEVER feels ANYTHING when he kisses other women. Especially with the way they kiss now. They have to make it look real. Well, it's the same thing the other way. and the more beautiful the couple, the more problems they have. And the friggin media doesn't help especially the tabloids. you read your other half is having an affair with the women he's been working with abroad in europe for the last three months. What are you gonna think. no matter how staunch your love for them, the seed has now been sown and it will do nothing but germinate and grow. That's the problem over there..not to mention drinking and drugs. lol

I really don't think that many people take marriage seriously anymore. When my best friend got married she made the comment, "if it doesn't work out there is always divorce." That really upset me because if I ever do get married I think divorce is a last resort. Divorce should be only for unforgivable mistakes and there aren't many of those. I'm not saying I would stay with a man who cheated on me or beat me. I would divorce him in a heartbeat. I just think divorce is to marriage like abortion is to pregnancy. Too many people use it as a quick fix.

All people take the value out of being married. There's not really a point to it anymore... it's not the 50's anymore. Women and Men can take care of themselves.

No it seems to be an epidemic now! The big problem is that people don't take relationships seriously! A relationship between two people should come before anything else! When it does not then there are problems!

depends on how much you let hollywoods actions affect your way of thinking.
real people know that the commitment you make that day is hard to break... sometimes divorce is necesary, sometimes it is done in vain.
some people are made for it and are prepared and realistic about it, and some aren't.... you gotta weed the good from the tainted.

yes a little. so many people watch and copy them thats the big problem. people do have the choice to not take it serious, but all the stuff you have to do to get married or divorce should give them a chance to think about it.
