Someone in my family is having a baby. She's not sure of the sex yet but wants to start thinking about names. Any ideas on first and middle names?

I picked middle names that were actually the maiden names of the two Grandma's. If we would have had a third I would have used mine as well. I liked the history of it!! One of their middle names is Masterson and the other is the original Irish spelling of my moms name before it was Americanized. Many times names were shortened and changed when they arrived here.

I hear many frustrations with from teachers, form filers, etc. who hate the new trend to take a common name but give it some crazy spelling in an attempt to be unique. If you want to be unique pick a unique name!

my best friends sister in law just had a baby girl and they named her Amberlynn Joy and I think that is very cute. They also have a little boy named Quinton Stewart. Then my best friends sister is going to have a baby girl and they are going to name her Victoria Anne, Tori for short. I also like the names Finley and Haddon for a boy.

Jocelynn or however you spell it would mix the parents name together if it was a girl.

Girls:

Ruby
Heidi
Evelyn (nickname: evie)
Evie (pronounced eve-ee)
Maanika (pronounced Monica) meaning ruby (my own name)
Lucy or Lucille, meaning bringer of light
Lacey or Lacy
Estrella (pronounced estraya)
Ava
Lola
Scarlet
Brooke
Victoria
Desiree
Charlotte
Renee
Anya
Anika (pronounced Uneeka or An-i-ca)
Berlin

Boys:

Martin
Jay
Gavin
Kevin
Artin

mix and match for a cool first and middle name.

and its best not to name your children something from the top 50 list because then people at school will end up calling them Emma B. or Jacob F. (not that they are bad names. they are quite nice in fact)

congrats! let me know what you name him/her!

Here are some names i like:

For a boy:
Michael - This name comes from Hebrew and means: "Who is like God?"
Joshua - Comes from Hebrew, meaning "The lord saves"
Ethan - Originating in Hebrew "Eitan", meaning "steady, firm, strong, solid, constant".
In the Old Testament Ethan was known for his wisdom.

For girl:

Madison

This name's origin is in German and Old English. It means "Son of a mighty warrior",
"Son of Maud"

Abigail

This name originates in the Old Testament, as the name of king david's wife.
Literally meaning in Hebrew (avi-gail): "My father is Joy".

I hope this helps.

I personally like the names Arabella, Gabriella, and Hailie for a girl, and the middle name could be something short like Mia.
