Nobody knows why the UK can't keep the same time as the rest of Europe anyway, so how could we possibly make sense of the 2am thing. It's the law or government policy or maybe even an EU plot

To stop missing a day. Automated devices that would be turned back to midnight might get confused; "think" a new day was starting and flick forward the day counter to Monday and miss Sunday out!

It used to be earlier, I seem to remember. So many people stay up past midnight these days that it is less confusing to have the repeated hour when even most clubbers have called it a night.

It used to be at midnight. It was changed because people are more active socially at night which causes difficulties at night club closures for example. So it was delayed until 2am.
This time is supposed to be more manageable for shift workers also.
Well in theory that is!!!

the first person to suggest it was benjamin franklin.
during the oil embargo of the 70's they also initiated it to save energy. and also i think during world warII? maybe a better history buff than i can back me up on that one

i think because they have a set date the 29th of oct. at 2 am if we did it at 1am that means we would set the curret date 28th for a sec,wait **** i dont know????????

its because the Scots farmers are afraid of the dark and don't want to milk their cows in a Field on their own in case it cost them money ....
