there is no women's movement as on the day. things are going in such a way as a transition of social change. spreading of single moms, deterioration joint family system, non security of family life and so. so women's movement has taken back seat.

Which movement? Feminist or NOW or "Women's Lib?" There are many these days. I think that just because a movement has lost traction for the moment, it may not be lost forever. Some of the movements need a little sand thrown under the wheels but we have a lot to think about now in this country.
I really would like to give women a chance to run this world for a while. They couldn't screw it up any more than we have. They probably have just as much ability to take bribes, and be crooked as anyone but they likely are more able to see clearly when things are chaotic. As in a family of 10 in the morning at school time, or the evening at supper time. The ladies can have my chair at the table of power any time they like. Ta Ta.

Nah, it's just different.

Back in the 70s, it was more militant and focused on gaining access to education, career, and sports. (ie Harvard didn't admit women to its law school. Women wanted to be doctors, news anchors, and all sorts of other jobs that employers would not hire a woman to do. Except for tennis and golf, there were no pro women sports.) The fight was literally about breaking down barriers.

Nowadays, since women are now in the door at work, it's more about breaking the glass ceiling and equal pay. We still hear all the time that so-and-so is the first woman to do such-and-such. The latest biggie is that we may have the first ever female (Nancy Pelosi) Speaker of the House after November 7. There have only been 3 women CEOs of fortune 500 companies. There has never been a female President of the USA. Katie Couric just became the first solo female newsanchor of the network nightly news. These are the fights of the modern feminist movement.

I really think it has. For two reason: One, the world is becoming much more technical and complicated, and women simply aren't as adept in the high tech field as men. I know I'm going to get some argument on that, but it's true. It's not a criticism; their minds just work differently. And they way society, the world and business is going, it's not in such a way as to favor women.
That's the business and economic view. The other reason I see a decline in the women's movement is that their is currently a moral swing back to traditiojal family values. I see more and more young women (girls!) with kids. Young women today don't seem to see being a stay at home mom as a "less than" position as they did in the '70's thru '90's. Some of them honestly want to be a mom and housewife. But some of them--and here's where I'm going to catch hell, but again, I stand by it--decide to have kids and eschew the workplace because they see what I mentioned in the beginning of this answer: that thw Big Bad world is getting tougher and they are intimidated. So it's safer to be a mommy.

the 'movement' is now history! with the coming of age of another generation of (powerful thinking) women, their thinking is how to independent, from women. the younger generation confused powerful sexuality with being powerful. Yes, men are attracted to women but how many times can you go to 'the well' before it runs dry?! women have this yearning to not be under the control of other women, with the movement, there had to be somebody in charge-a women, thus the movement is history. Plus, anytime a man that a woman is attracted to steps into the picture, she lets her guard down and follows him, thus the movement is history!
